ACTON PEEWEE SELECTS CAPTURE HOME TOWN TITLE
The Acton Chargers JESCAN Power Inc. Pewee Select Team won the Acton 45th Annual Peewee Tournament this past weekend.
In their first game, they tied the Burlington Bulldogs with the only goal being scored shorthanded by Ryan Gordon. Their second match up was against the Kincardine Kinucks and the home town boys came away with a 3-0 victory. Kyle Dafoe had a goal and an assist while Curtis King and Braedan Lazenby scored the others. Assists went to William West, Gordon, and Cole Fagan. The third game saw the boys dominate the Stoney Creek Warriors, beating them 5-1. Brandon Schupp had 2 goals while his line mate Doug Smith chipped in a goal and 2 assists. Jonah MacDonald and Thomas Holmes rounded out the scoring with Cole Fagan having a strong game picking up 3 assists. For the final it was a re-match against Burlington and the boys left it all out on the ice. Kyle Dafoe scored a natural hat trick causing it to rain down hats from the loud and lively hometown crowd. His line mates Curtis King and William West assisted on all 3 of the goals. Riley Gulyas sealed the game with an empty netter. Unbelievable goaltending by Elijah MacDonald, earned him his second shutout and cemented a solid weekend allowing only 2 goals in 4 games.
Congratulations to the whole team on a well-deserved championship.
