Amendment to the Halton Hills Return to Skate Protocol
The Town of Halton Hills has acknowledged and reviewed the request for proposed changes to the numbers permitted on the roster for game play.
In consideration of Public Health recommendations, Provincial Directives and to align with our neighboring municipalities in Halton Region we are willing to accommodate the roster number to match what the governing body i.e. OMHA, OWHA, OHF has implemented in their Return to Play document. At the current time the OHF guideline is 9 players + 1 goalie and the OWHA guidelines is 12 players + 1 goalie. Any future increase as recommended by a governing body will be considered based on facility, Public Health and Provincial requirements.Existing safety protocols must be followed, this includes 2 meter physical distancing and mandatory use of masks when entering/exiting the building and in public areas.
In order to maintain physical distancing, each team/user group will have to facilitate and manage the dressing rooms and benches depending on the size of their team. In order to assist with this, extra benches are provided outside of certain rinks that can seat the extra players at a 2 meter distance. Dressing rooms will be posted with the maximum number of patrons permitted in the room at one time. One change room will be assigned per team and the bench directly outside their room will be designated for overflow. Teams/user groups will not exceed the maximum number of persons permitted on the bench and will not exceed the posted dressing room occupancy limit. Please note that due to space requirements and fire codes not all rinks will be able to accommodate more than 10 players. Please contact the Arena Supervisor for more information. We have revised and edited the Halton Hills Return to Play Protocol to reflect these changes effective Oct 13, 2020.
